About Me

Tim Becker

Its a very strange thing that they let me do this, Its uncontainable, and people keep buying me art supplies, as if they are concerned about my hands and time being unoccupied. I grew up with comics and pencils, and layers of drawings of Batman and Spiderman and self-created Super Heroes who’s names I’ve forgotten (except for the pre -MC hammer Hammerman, that fellow owns real-estate in my brain).

I grew and people and pop culture injected the causal introduction of fine art and music into my childhood and young adulthood. From Ferris Bueller introducing me to George Seurat to my 11th grade English teacher introducing me to “Clubbin’ with Jesus” ( the cheeky nickname she gave to Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgement”), I was introduced without the stigma of the label of fine art.

Into College I took my Art History seriously, from the Renaissance to Pop and Modern, from Chinese Vessels to 6 million dollar Sharks. From Spiral Jetty by Robert Smithson to Aluminum Balloon Dogs from Jeff Koons. Its all so very amazing and incredibly inspiring. *

I doubt I have my own voice, just a million pieces from everyone I’ve Loved and everything I’ve seen, regurgitated and composed and presented.
